The Thuvavi Village and surrounding villages are served by a total of four primary, secondary and post-secondary schools which the CBG Foundation supports through funding and initiatives.
Three of the four schools are private, therefore government funding is not provided to operate the schools and cover the educational fees of the students. The foundation partners with the local Thuvavi Education Trust (previously known as the Thuvavi Vibhag Sarvajanik Kelevani Mandal) to provide education opportunities to the local population.
The Shree Chittubhai Desaibhai (C. D.) Patel Primary School serves 450+ students from Pre-K through 8th Grade. The school, founded in 1998, operates as a fee-based, non-profit institution, offering instruction in Gujarati-Medium.
Named after Chittubhai Desaibhai Patel, a visionary leader, trustee of the Thuvavi Education Trust, and a prominent civil engineer in the construction industry, the school stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity for families in one of India’s most underprivileged areas.
The Shree Desaibhai Kahandas (D. K.) Patel High School serves students from 9th Grade to 10th Grade. Founded in 1983, the school is “granted” by the Government of Gujarat, therefore, fees are covered by the government.
Combined with the higher secondary school, a total of 500+ attend both Shree D. K. Patel High School and Shree V. I. Patel Higher Secondary School.
Founded in 1991, the Shree Vitthalbhai Iswarbhai (V. I.) Patel Higher Secondary School serves students from 11th Grade to 12th Grade. The school was created as an extension of the existing high school.
The school is named after Vitthalbhai Iswarbhai Patel, who was one of the founding member and trustee of the Thuvavi Education Trust.
Along with the Shree D. K. Patel High School, Shree V. I. Patel Higher Secondary School serves over 500+ students a year.
Founded in 2014, the Shrimati Anjuben R. Patel Industrial Training Institute (ITI) provides students and community members training and skills within vocational skills through local industry partnerships – wiremen, tailoring, data entry, etc.
By providing these students affordable vocational training near home, we hope to tap into their full potentials in a constructive and productive manner so that they obtain jobs with better income and thus lift their families from poverty and social issues.
The institute is named after the beloved, deceased wife of Shree Ravindra C. Patel – grandson of Shree D.K. Patel.
The CBG Foundation For Humanity and Education is a team of individuals supporting the education and well-being of the children and community members in and surrounding Thuvavi Village of Gujarat, India.
